Job Summary

Due to ongoing growth, Corrigenda is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across a variety of sites in the Portsmouth, Southampton, and wider Hampshire area, delivering both planned and reactive plumbing and mechanical services.

You’ll be responsible for servicing and repairs of Heat interface units, completing works following Legionella risk assessments, TMV servicing, Expansion vessel testing including installation, repair of heating and potable systems, these works will be within domestic & commercial properties across education, private, and public sectors.

Your role will ensure services are delivered efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards, in line with current regulations and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):
  • Carry out planned and reactive plumbing maintenance across the estate, including installation, repair, and servicing of plumbing systems, fixtures, and fittings
  • Heat Interface Unit Servicing and Repairs
  • TMVs/ Temp Testing/ Radiator TRV Inspections/ Flushing/ Descaling
  • Support the business by mentoring and guiding plumbing apprentices when required, helping them develop technical skills and safe working practices.
  • Work independently or as part of the plumbing & mechanical team to meet deadlines and contract performance standards.
  • Work flexible hours, including occasional out-of-hours or emergency call-outs, to suit the plumbing and maintenance needs of the business.
  • Ensure safe working practices at all times, including when working at height, in confined spaces, or with pressurised systems.
  • Liaise with sub-contractors and other departments to coordinate and complete plumbing & mechanical repairs and installations effectively.
  • Carry out any other plumbing and mechanical related tasks as required by the company, within your skills and experience level.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
  • A suitable City and Guilds or equivalent NVQ qualification
  • Unvented Water Systems
  • Recognised Health & Safety training
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Be able to operate SMART devices and complete electronic documentation
  • Full UK driving license
