Job summary

First Achieve Engineering is recruiting a Mechanical Service Engineer to join its growing Service & Repair team. The role is split between customer sites and the workshop, working on HVAC, pumping equipment and rotating machinery.

You will diagnose faults, service and repair equipment such as centrifugal pumps, motors and fans, with a focus on reactive breakdowns, maintenance and on-site commissioning. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, SVQ/NVQ, HNC/HND or equivalent).
• Experience working as a Service, Maintenance or Field Engineer.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding experience on pumps, motors, fans or other rotating equipment.
• Experience working within industrial, manufacturing, HVAC or building services environments.
• Full UK driving licence.
• A proactive approach and strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair a wide range of pumping equipment, including centrifugal and progressive cavity pumps.
• Carry out mechanical fault finding, repairs and planned maintenance.
• Install, set up and commission new equipment.
• Undertake basic pipework modifications where required.
• Complete site risk assessments and ensure safe work practices.
• Produce accurate service reports and provide a high standard of customer service.
• Work independently and as part of a skilled engineering team.

Job Specification – Mechanical Service Engineer

Location: Central Belt of Scotland

Salary: Up to £45,000 basic + Overtime + Company Vehicle + Pension

The Opportunity

First Achieve Engineering is working with a growing engineering business to recruit a Mechanical Service Engineer to join its expanding Service & Repair team.

This is a varied role, split between customer sites and the workshop, working on a wide range of HVAC, commercial and industrial equipment. The role is predominantly focused on reactive breakdowns, servicing and repairs, offering plenty of variety and technical challenge.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair a wide range of pumping equipment, including:
• Centrifugal pumps
• Progressive cavity pumps
• Air-operated diaphragm pumps
• Booster sets
• Pump stations
• Strip, inspect and assess pumps, electric motors and industrial fans.
• Carry out mechanical fault finding, repairs and planned maintenance.
• Install, set up and commission new equipment.
• Undertake basic pipework modifications where required.
• Complete site risk assessments and ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with current HSE legislation.
• Produce accurate service reports and provide a high standard of customer service.
• Work both independently and as part of a skilled engineering team.
