Job description

Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer with experience within high tech industries? Do you have experience with DFM/DFA, prototyping or supporting concept development? If so, this Mechanical Engineer position is perfect for you!

The Mechanical Engineer role is working for a company in Andover. The role is Monday to Friday, 8:30am -5pm, with an early finish of 3:30pm on a Friday. The role is onsite and is paying up to £45,000 depending on experience.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll play a key role in the design, development and manufacture of precision components and assemblies within the Power Electronics division. You'll work on tooling, fixtures and test equipment to support semiconductor packaging projects, taking concepts from feasibility through to full production. The role involves close collaboration with Project Managers, technical teams and customers, providing engineering expertise to meet quality, cost and delivery goals. You'll use CAD tools such as SolidWorks to develop designs, apply DFM/DFA principles and support verification and testing across the product lifecycle. This position suits someone with strong technical knowledge, practical design experience and a proactive, hands‑on approach to problem‑solving and process improvement.

You will need:
  • At least 5 years' experience in a relevant position
  • Qualified to at least HND level would be beneficial
  • Experience with CAD (Solidworks preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of different materials and processes
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
