Job summary

Wigan & Leigh College seeks a Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Lecturer to teach across mechanical and electrical engineering qualifications, delivering theory and hands‑on application that the industry demands.

You will deliver lessons, assess students' progress, and contribute to a safety‑conscious learning environment. A background in PLCs, Engineering Mathematics, and strong design understanding is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with PLCs, Engineering Mathematics and a strong design understanding.
• Degree or vocational qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one with support.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver lessons across Level 3 to 6 to develop academic potential and practical employability.
• Mark work, give feedback and guide students on improvement.
• Use assessment results to shape lessons and support progress.
• Monitor attendance and promote positive behaviour.
• Keep accurate records of student progress and assessments.
