Design Engineer required for a manufacturer based in Cheddar. We offer an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member, you will be responsible for producing P&IDs, layouts, and general arrangement drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD Lite, while contributing to the development of a 3D library for standard plant items.

Mechanical Design Engineer Job Overview

• Produce drawings in a timely manner and with attention to detail on behalf of the projecting team.
• Develop 3D library for standard plant items.
• Liaise with clients on design details – quality control/validation of manufactured designs.
• Create detailed manufacturing drawings to assist fabrication including general arrangements, part drawings, developments, and templates.
• Produce piping and steelwork fabrication drawings in the form of isometrics, general arrangements, and orthographic.
• Review & check detailed design drawings of piping systems, supports, and steelwork in accordance with industry standards, codes, and client specifications.
• Prepare & check bill of materials.
• Provide technical input during detailed engineering of projects.
• Provide support and input into the preparation of manufacturing work packs.

Mechanical Design Engineer Job Requirements

• Excellent working knowledge of SolidWorks; accredited in CSWP/CSWE is beneficial.
