Mechanical Design Engineer – Water

SSA are currently recruiting for a leading Civil Engineering & Utilities contractor who are looking to add a Mechanical Design Engineer to their successful MEICA team, working as part of their AMP8 frameworks for Thames Water & Southern Water.

The role will involve:

  • Production of mechanical detailed design submissions
  • Working with design teams in the production of design & construction drawings and documentation
  • Liasing with civil, electrical, process and operations teams
  • Producing design deliverables including, but not limited to, P&IDs, hydraulic calculations, pipework layouts, pipework schedules, P&E schedules, Pipe supports/thrust design, Mechanical GAs and layouts
  • Reviewing technical submissions
  • Maintaining design input throughout project lifecycle, from initial feasbility thorugh to outline and detailed design, and construction/handover.
  • Attending site meetings
