Job summary

Wagstaff Recruitment in Poole, Dorset is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with strong SolidWorks skills to join a company serving a global client base across sectors. The role focuses on delivering robust designs, specifications and BOMs to meet lifting requirements, while collaborating with internal teams.

You will have 3+ years of design engineering experience, a mechanical/structural engineering qualification, and will develop expertise in FEA and 3D stress analysis.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience as a Design Engineer or Senior Draughtsperson
• Degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical or Structural Engineering
• Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
• Experience with design for manufacture (DFM)
• Willing to learn FEA and 3D structural stress analysis
• Lifting equipment design experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Support engineering project delivery using SolidWorks, reporting to the Engineering Manager
• Produce designs, specifications, and BOMs to meet customer lifting requirements
• Work on varied projects for a global customer base
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders
• Build product knowledge through training and cross‑team collaboration

Are you a talented Mechanical Design Engineer with good experience working with Solidworks? Are you looking to join a company with a Global client base, working on a variety of projects for customers across various sectors?
