Job summary

Gael Force Group is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its Product Development team in Inverness. You will take designs from concept through prototype, testing and manufacture to deployment in aquaculture and marine environments.

The role involves designing and refining products, producing drawings and calculations, supporting prototypes and validations, and collaborating across mechanical, electrical, software and supplier teams.

Qualifications

• Must have mechanical design capability and experience with product development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new products and improvements to existing lines.
• Produce engineering drawings and technical calculations.
• Prepare supporting technical documentation.
• Support prototype development and first of type builds.
• Support product testing and validation.
• Participate in design reviews and product evaluations.
• Prepare and maintain bills of materials.
• Maintain engineering records.
• Investigate product performance and identify improvements.
• Liaise with suppliers, customers and internal teams throughout the lifecycle.
• Carry out site visits and technical investigations as required.

Education

Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
