Job Description

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary design team on customer‑focused projects, taking responsibility for designing gas, hydraulic, and process systems from first principles.

You will create system designs, P&IDs, fabrication and general arrangement drawings using both 2D and 3D CAD, ensuring each design meets required technical standards and customer expectations. The Mechanical Design Engineer will apply strong analytical skills to produce detailed engineering calculations, covering thermodynamics, mechanical design principles, material compatibility, and flow analysis.

This is a hands‑on role requiring precision and creativity, collaborating closely with internal teams and customers to refine design concepts and deliver accurate, compliant engineering documentation. You’ll also lead design reviews, compile technical files, and ensure projects meet ISO standards and CE marking directives.

Skills & Experience
  • Degree (BEng or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer or similar role in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Inventor and 3D/2D design tools
  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics, flow systems, and mechanical calculations
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Confident communicator, able to work collaboratively across departments
  • Creative problem‑solver with a logical, methodical approach
  • Familiarity with CE marking, PED, and ATEX/IECEx documentation is advantageous
