Job summary

Mansell Recruitment Group is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the client’s engineering team in the UK. The role focuses on designing hydraulic and pneumatic solutions, producing CAD drawings, and validating designs through basic calculations.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Mechanical or Fluid Power Engineering, CAD experience, and hands-on experience with hydraulic systems and SolidWorks, along with strong teamwork and safety awareness.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Fluid Power Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic principles and schematics.
• Experience using CAD software.
• Ability to perform basic mechanical and hydraulic design calculations.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and its application.
• Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using SolidWorks.
• Practical engineering or manufacturing experience.
• Hands-on experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic solutions.
• Produce engineering drawings using CAD software.
• Create and review hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
• Perform basic engineering calculations to validate designs.
• Collaborate with engineering, workshop and operations teams to deliver successful projects.
• Ensure designs comply with health and safety standards and engineering best practice.
