Job summary

Ridgway Machines Ltd, based at Meridian Business Park in Leicester, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with proven experience designing machinery, mechanisms and moving mechanical systems. This is not a general role; we want engineers who have designed machines, rotating equipment or other complex moving assemblies and who can demonstrate ownership of those designs.

Joining our established team, you will own the design and development of bespoke machinery from concept through manufacture,

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Solid 3D CAD experience; SolidWorks preferred.
• Experience designing machinery and moving mechanical systems.
• Ability to own designs end-to-end and communicate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design bespoke machinery using SolidWorks.
• Develop mechanisms, moving assemblies and mechanical systems.
• Produce engineering drawings and documentation.
• Support design reviews and maintain BOMs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers.
