Job summary

Orion Electrotech are partnering with an innovative engineering manufacturer in high-performance automotive and motorsport. The Mechanical Design Engineer will own projects from concept through to production, working with manufacturing, prototyping and production teams.

Based in Witney, Oxfordshire, you will develop SolidWorks models, generate drawings, and continuously improve designs while contributing to the full product lifecycle. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• 3 years' experience in a Mechanical Design Engineer role.
• Strong SolidWorks and 3D CAD modelling experience.
• Experience producing manufacturing drawings with GD&T.
• Knowledge of CNC machining and manufacturing processes.
• An understanding of engineering materials and design for manufacture principles.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach to engineering challenges.
• The desire to be involved beyond the design office and work closely with the wider business.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Produce manufacturing drawings and technical documentation.
• Develop new products and improve existing designs.
• Design components for CNC machining and manufacture.
• Support prototype development, testing and validation activities.

The Mechanical Design Engineer Role
