Job description

A global manufacturer based in the West Midlands is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. This is a full‑time, on‑site position where you'll be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and systems that support their production processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designing and developing sheet metal components for manufacturing applications.
  • Creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support production workflows.
  • Producing detailed CAD models and technical drawings (CREO preferred, but open to other CAD software).
  • Collaborating with production and quality teams to ensure designs meet performance and compliance standards.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes.
Requirements
  • Proven experience working with sheet metal in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of BOM creation and management.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (CREO experience advantageous, but not essential).
  • Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work on‑site full‑time in the West Midlands.
  • Background in HVAC, refrigeration, or chiller systems would be beneficial but not essential.
