Job summary

Teledyne Valeport in Totnes, UK, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to create and develop the mechanical aspects of our next generation underwater instruments. You will design with 3D CAD, produce manufacture-ready drawings and contribute to in-house prototyping, testing and integration with electronics.

Qualifications

• A level 5/6 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (e.g. HND/Degree).
• Evidence of experience in a relevant mechanical design role.

The position will come with product awareness training, use of the latest design technology, in-house and external test facilities, a supporting R&D team and above all job satisfaction of seeing designs turn into manufactured products in short lead times. In the role you will be* Working on the design and development of the mechanical aspects of the next generation of products, for both existing and future markets.* Working with 3D solid modelling, the successful candidate will develop designs and produce technical drawings for manufacture.* Utilising CAD facilities, such as 3D photo-rendering and rapid prototyping. The role has potential to develop technically to include FEA and CFD design simulation.* Providing mechanical problem solving support to the production department.
