Job summary

A specialist engineering firm in the UK is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a team focused on innovative offshore projects. The role involves designing bespoke equipment, performing mechanical calculations, and producing technical documents. Ideal candidates will have an HNC in Mechanical Engineering and experience with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and ANSYS. This position offers a chance to take ownership of challenging design work from concept to delivery.

Qualifications

• HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering; Bachelor's Degree advantageous.
• Experience in offshore/heavy engineering projects.
• Skilled in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD & ANSYS.

Overview

Mechanical Design Engineer; Jackson Hogg is delighted to be recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a specialist engineering team working on innovative offshore and heavy equipment projects. This role offers the chance to take ownership of challenging design work, from concept through to delivery, ensuring projects meet client and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop bespoke offshore equipment.
• Perform and verify mechanical calculations (loadings, structures, lifting, etc.).
• Produce and support 3D models, drawings & technical documents.
• Contribute to design reviews and project handovers.
• Deliver work on time, to budget, and to spec.

Requirements

• HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering (Bachelors Degree Advantagous)
• Experience in offshore / heavy engineering projects.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems (advantageous).
• Skilled in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD & ANSYS - essential.
• Strong communicator, proactive and well-organised.
