Job summary

A mechanical engineering company in Nottingham is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to generate 3D models and 2D layouts using CAD tools. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing automation machinery and be proficient in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD 2D. Qualifications

Engineering @365 is working with a well-established designer and manufacturer of bespoke mechanical handling and automation systems, providing end-to-end design, manufacturing, and installation services across a range of industrial and commercial sectors. The company is now seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its growing and dynamic engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate 3D models and 2D layouts for bespoke mechanical equipment using industry-standard CAD tools.
• Produce comprehensive technical documentation including parts lists, drawings, and assembly details.
• Contribute to design reviews, ensuring solutions are efficient, manufacturable, and meet performance requirements.
• Assist with site visits to gather measurements, assess existing equipment, and verify installation feasibility.
• Collaborate with internal teams on proposals and concept layouts to support project bids.
• Provide technical input to ensure projects remain within specification, budget, and schedule.
• Support production teams during prototype build, testing, and installation activities.

What we’re looking for
