Overview

We are delighted to be supporting our client in the Milton Keynes area who is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer.

Salary: £38,000 per annum. Hours: 8:30am to 5:15pm, Monday to Friday. Apply now.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the design and development manager to translate visions to life.
  • Use engineering principles and innovative thinking to generate new mechanical solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to prototype, test and validate new product designs.
  • Understand project requirements and determine the viability of the study.
  • Participate in design reviews, meetings, and customer presentations to gather feedback and incorporate changes.
  • Make detailed designs using SolidWorks.
  • Track project progress, identify risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Assist with project documentation including design files, specifications and reports.
  • Create, test and provide profitable solution specifications for manufacturing.
  • Provide 3D CAD models, fully dimensioned engineering drawings to ISO standards, assembly drawings, BOMs, test data and build, test and evaluation of prototypes.
Qualifications
  • Strong SolidWorks knowledge.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing processes including plastic moulding, CNC machining, casting and sheet metal forming.
