Rega is looking for an experienced mechanical design engineer to join our research and development team. The ideal candidate will have a natural understanding of mechanical design, meticulous attention to detail and strong communication skills.
Rega's philosophy is to make high quality products at sensible prices, as a means of reproducing music as faithfully as possible. Rega is committed to the design and development of new and existing products, both in hi-fi and other areas that will perpetuate Rega's values of quality and value for money.
Rega is a non-authoritarian team-based culture. Each team has a leader responsible for all communications between their specific area of responsibility and all other areas of Rega. The title for this role is Coordinator. The individual Coordinators as a group form the Coordination Team which is responsible for the daily running and function of the Company (the Management Function).
Everyone at Rega needs to communicate within our culture. This requirement means that we work in an open non-competitive way with all teammates whilst being reasonable and non-aggressive (to have empathy).
We make agreements with other members of Rega daily. It is of the utmost importance that we keep to these agreements. If for any reason we cannot, we must let the teammate/colleagues know so that a new agreement can be made. Likewise, if we feel that an agreement has been broken without explanation then the agreement must be urgently reviewed with the colleague/s involved. If there is a pattern of broken agreements by individual or team, then this is likely to lead to follow up by way of a formal HR process.
Regas culture, whilst relaxed, should not be misunderstood and misinterpreted as soft and manipulable. We are a busy and determined company, and we expect the team to be self-determined and focussed. Between all the coordinators all the work must be done. The success of the non-authoritarian leadership culture of Rega is underpinned by the understanding that this does not allow for the relinquishing of responsibility at any level.
