Job description
Mechanical Design Engineer

Inspire Resourcing Ltd are looking for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer with strong experience in CAD design to join the team at their client’s premises in Mansfield.

This role involves designing precision mechanical components, conveyor systems and assemblies for manufacture, creating detailed 2D, 3D models and technical drawings. You will be supporting projects from concept through to production. You’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams including quality, manufacturing, and procurement to ensure designs are cost‑effective, functional, and aligned with customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and update 2D or 3D model and detailed technical drawings using CAD.
  • Develop mechanical designs and assemblies in line with engineering specifications, performance targets, and manufacturing constraints.
  • Produce and manage Bill of Materials (BOMs) and design documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with production and quality teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet internal and customer quality standards.
  • Take part in design reviews, incorporate feedback, and drive continuous improvement in the design process.
  • Assist with change control processes and engineer release documentation.
Requirements
  • Proven experience using CAD for 3D modelling and 2D drawing creation.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience working with mechanical assemblies, machined parts, or precision components.
