Job summary

Hartland Recruitment & Advertising Limited in Leicestershire is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to own end-to-end design projects for bespoke machinery and automation systems.

You will employ SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD to develop production drawings and BOMs, and to design automation components. Collaboration with electrical, controls, and production teams is essential to drive concepts through commissioning.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer / Design Engineer / Project Engineer
• Ideal experience in automation, machinery, or special purpose equipment
• Strong SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD experience (SolidEdge, Inventor etc.)
• Ability to create production drawings and BOMs
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and assembly
• Experience with mechanical components, mechanisms, and machine design
• Strong problem-solving and project ownership skills
• Based within commuting distance of Leicester / East Midlands
• Full UK work eligibility required

Responsibilities

Are you a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in special purpose machinery, automation, or bespoke equipment design? A growing engineering company in Leicester is looking for an experienced engineer to take ownership of end-to-end mechanical design projects, working on complex, one-off machinery used across a range of industrial applications.
