Overview

Blueprint Recruitment have an exciting opportunity on offer for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading engineering consultancy, on a contract basis. The successful candidate will work on a hybrid basis from our client's Leeds office, 3 days a week. Within this role, you will have the opportunity to work on an exciting large-scale Public Health project, becoming a valued member of a dynamic and skilled workforce.

Salary: £42-£46 per hour (depending on experience). Hybrid working arrangements (3 days on-site).

Responsibilities
  • Create concise drawings, specifications, layouts, and calculations, for mechanical systems, with a focus on HVAC, heating and cooling, ventilation, and hydronic systems.
  • Collaborate with other professionals (architects and engineers) to ensure the controlled implementation of mechanical systems.
  • Assist with the implementation of drawings, as-built documentation, commissioning, and submittals, within the construction stage.
  • Assess, and provide strategic solutions for, design risks to ensure compliance with current regulations, standards, and sustainability targets.
  • Coordinate timelines and workload across a variety of projects, using client and stakeholder feedback to develop project designs and plans.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent qualification, in Mechanical Engineering and/or Building Services.
  • Extensive experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer, or a similar position, ideally working on Public Health projects within a consultancy environment.
  • Strong understanding of design software tools, such as AutoCAD, BIM tools, and Revit, and calculation methods.
  • Solid grasp of current building regulations, standards, and principles.
  • Proficient communicator with strong teamwork skills, with the willingness to work with numerous stakeholders, clients, and professionals.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage and effectively prioritise workload, whilst maintaining a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
