Job summary

A B Graphic International Limited is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Hull. You will deliver high-quality mechanical designs and detailed drawings that support manufacturing, assembly, and service activities while seeking continuous improvements across products and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Strong CAD drafting skills and ability to produce detailed drawings.
• Experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing/engineering setting is essential.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate part and assembly drawings to support manufacturing.
• Provide technical support to production, service teams and customers.
• Answer service-related technical queries and assist root-cause analysis.
• Lead or contribute to joint engineering projects and provide guidance.
• Review existing products and drive design improvements.
• Coordinate with suppliers and sites for projects and investigations.

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands‑on design work, technical problem-solving, and collaborating closely with manufacturing, service, suppliers, and customers.

You will be responsible for producing high-quality mechanical designs and technical documentation that support manufacturing, assembly, and service activities, while also playing a key role in improving existing products and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce accurate part and assembly drawings to support manufacturing
• Provide technical support to production staff, service teams, subcontractors, and customers
• Respond to service-related technical queries and contribute to root cause analysis
• Lead or contribute to joint engineering projects, offering technical guidance to team members and other departments
• Proactively review existing products, identify improvement opportunities, and take the lead on implementing design enhancements
• Liaise with suppliers and, where required, visit customer and supplier sites to support projects and technical investigations

Skills & Experience

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Proven experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Strong CAD skills with experience producing detailed engineering drawing
