Job summary

Cure Talent is partnering with a leading UK manufacturer to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer for packaging machinery solutions in the medical device sector.

You will design packaging and automation equipment, create detailed SolidWorks drawings, and produce BOMs while ensuring regulatory and safety standards. This role demands collaboration across teams and a commitment to quality throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience designing packaging or automation equipment (≤140 chars).
• Degree in Design, Engineering or related field (≤140 chars).
• Experience with medical packaging and/or medical devices (≤140 chars).
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software (≤140 chars).
• Understanding of engineering and workshop machinery (≤140 chars).

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical design across full project lifecycle from concept to commissioning.
• Design components, assemblies and drawings in SolidWorks; prepare BOMs.
• Support procurement and subcontract manufacture; select materials and methods.
• Prepare and maintain Technical Files, Operator and Maintenance Instructions.
• Ensure compliance with performance, quality, regulatory and safety requirements.

Cure Talent is delighted to partner a leading UK manufacturer who specialize in the design and production of high-quality packaging machinery solutions for the medical device industry.

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join this company’s engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical design principles and will play a crucial role in designing and developing packaging machinery, automation equipment, jigs and fixtures to meet both company and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver mechanical design expertise across the full project lifecycle, from concept, design, and build through to testing and commissioning
• Design components, mechanisms, and assemblies in SolidWorks, producing detailed drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials
• Support procurement and subcontract manufacture, selecting suitable materials, components, and manufacturing methods
• Produce and maintain mechanical and technical documentation, including Technical Files, Operator Instructions, and Maintenance Instructions
• Ensure projects meet performance, quality, regulatory, Health and Safety, and continuous improvement requirements

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in designing packaging or automation equipment
• Degree in Design, Engineering, or a related field
• Experience working with medical packaging and/or medical devices
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar CAD software)
• Understanding of engineering and workshop machinery
