Coherent Glasgow is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop high-performance, high-reliability laser systems for scientific, industrial and medical applications.

You will work across the full product lifecycle, taking mechanical and opto-mechanical designs from early concept and prototyping through detailed design, hands‑on build and verification and into volume manufacturing.

The role is primarily focused on practical mechanical design and product development, with a strong emphasis on precision engineering, opto‑mechanics, manufacturability and hands‑on problem solving.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering, manufacturing and supply‑chain teams across Coherent's global organisation.
