Mechanical Design Engineer – Gloucestershire

If you are a skilled mechanical design engineer with a background in design and development of mechanical solutions for industrial applications and products then this could be a great new role for you!

The company are a leading provider of innovative pumping solutions and process equipment, serving a wide range of industries including Energy, Power Generation, Fire Protection and Water Treatment. With a strong focus on engineering excellence and customer satisfaction, they design and manufacture high-performance systems tailored to complex industrial needs.

This will be an interesting and varied role where you will specialise in the design and development of mechanical products and systems for the process industry.

You'll be responsible for taking projects from concept through to completion, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for process industry applications.
• Produce detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings.
• Collaborate with project managers, manufacturing teams, and clients to ensure designs meet technical and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and support prototype testing and validation.
• Continuously improve existing designs for performance, manufacturability, and cost-efficiency.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in mechanical design within the process industry or industrial applications would be beneficial (e.g. pressure vessels, piping systems, rotating equipment).
• Strong proficiency in CAD software.
