The Opportunity

My client, a pioneering engineering manufacturer with over 75 years of success, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team. This is your chance to design high–performance packaging machinery used by leading global brands, bringing ideas from concept to manufacture and shaping the future of automation.

You will play a key role in developing bespoke packaging equipment, working collaboratively within a highly skilled engineering team that values innovation, precision, and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop custom machinery and automation systems.
  • Contribute to R&D, product development, and cost–saving initiatives
  • Produce detailed 3D models, drawings, and technical documentation
  • Support testing and customer demonstrations when required
  • Take full ownership of the design process from initial concept to delivery
Key Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks (EPDM Vault experience advantageous)
  • Strong understanding of pneumatic control systems
  • Knowledge of ATEX and CE marking standards desirable
  • Ideally 5+ years experience in packaging, automation, or related industries
  • Proactive, detail–oriented, and collaborative mindset
