Job summary

A leading engineering recruitment firm is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a forward-thinking company specializing in the water and wastewater industry. The successful candidate will produce detailed mechanical designs in compliance with client specifications while delivering outputs on time and within budget. Applicants should have several years of experience in mechanical design within the water/process sector and a relevant degree. Qualifications

• Several years of experience in mechanical design, particularly within the water/process industry.
• Chartered or near chartered status in a relevant construction discipline may be required.
• Working knowledge of CDM (Construction Design Management) regulations and health & safety.

• Produce outline and detailed mechanical designs meeting client specifications.
• Check design deliverables including specifications, schedules, and drawings.
• Ensure compliance with CDM regulations.

Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer looking for your next role? Finlay Jude Associates are working with a leading company who specialise in providing solutions across the water, and wastewater industry.

Responsibilities

• Produce Outline and Detailed Mechanical Designs which are cost effective and meet the requirements of the client’s specifications, and which can be purchased, installed and commissioned effectively
• Production and Checking of all design deliverables including Specifications, Schedules, Drawings and Calculations
• Ensure designs are completed in accordance with CDM Regulations
• Ensure that standard designs and design practices are utilised wherever possible
• Delivering the design stage outputs of each project within the agreed timescale and budget
• Coordinating design outputs across all technical disciplines
• Preparing monthly project status reports
• Establish working relationships with construction staff and supply chain representatives to promote buildability and supply chain efficiency in design outputs

Skills and Knowledge Requirements

• Degree or equivalent qualification
• Several years’ experience in Mechanical design in water / process industry
• Chartered or near chartered in a construction discipline as appropriate to grade
• Experience in the Water treatment Industry
• Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety
