The Role of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll play a key part in taking projects from concept through to production and installation.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing custom HVAC systems using 2D/3D CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor).
• Producing P&IDs, general arrangement drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Performing airflow, psychrometric, and heat load calculations.
• Selecting and specifying fans, filters, coils, heaters, and control components.
• Collaborating with project managers, site engineers, and suppliers.
• Supporting installation and commissioning activities (some UK/international travel).
• Ensuring all designs meet CE/UKCA compliance and relevant directives.

About the Mechanical Design Engineer:

The Mechanical Design Engineer will need to be someone who enjoys problem–solving and working in a fast–paced project environment where no two days are the same.

Essential Requirements:

• HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or HVAC Design.
• Minimum 3 years experience within HVAC, air handling, or building services.
• Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor.
• Good understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and ventilation systems.
• Full UK driving licence (company pool van or mileage expenses provided).

Desirable:

• Experience with HVAC or air–handling projects.
• Familiarity with ATEX components and CE/UKCA directives.
• Some understanding of electrical systems (wiring, controls, motor drives).
