Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a Mechanical Design Engineer role within building services.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC and mechanical building systems.
  • Experience using design software such as AutoCAD, Revit or similar.
  • Knowledge of UK building regulations and CIBSE guidance.
  • Ability to manage workload across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical building services systems including HVAC, heating, ventilation, and associated pipework.
  • Produce detailed drawings, schematics and layouts using industry-standard software.
  • Carry out heat loss/heat gain calculations and system sizing.
  • Prepare technical submissions and assist with tender documentation.
  • Ensure designs comply with current regulations and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure fully integrated solutions.
  • Provide technical support throughout installation and commissioning phases.

Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Deeside, North Wales
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)

The Role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing detailed mechanical building services designs across a range of projects. You will work closely with project managers, electrical engineers and site teams to ensure coordinated, compliant and commercially viable designs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design mechanical building services systems including HVAC, heating, ventilation, and associated pipework
  • Produce detailed drawings, schematics and layouts using industry-standard software
