Job summary

Talent Motion is representing a multidisciplinary consultancy that believes engineering can do more than make buildings work; it can make places healthier, more sustainable and better for the people who use them. We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their Building Services team in London.

You’ll design and deliver Mechanical Building Services across heritage-focused projects, coordinating with architects, structural engineers, and other consultants, and supporting junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Experience in building services consultancy environment.
• Good knowledge of Mechanical Building Services Design.
• Understanding of relevant UK standards and regulations.
• Experience using design and engineering software.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project teams.
• Genuine interest in sustainable and low-carbon engineering.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical building services design from concept through to delivery.
• HVAC and Low-Carbon building systems.
• New-Build and Retrofit projects (Heritage focus).
• Workplace, Hospitality and Mixed-Use developments.
• Sustainable and energy-efficient design solutions.

• Developing designs through the RIBA stages.

We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their growing Building Services team.

This is an opportunity to work on genuinely interesting projects, alongside civil, structural, transport, sustainability, environmental and other built-environment specialists – giving you the chance to think beyond your own discipline and see the bigger picture.

What will you be doing?

You’ll be involved in the design and delivery of Mechanical Building Services across a diverse range of projects and sectors that focus heavily on Heritage projects.

• Mechanical building services design from concept through to delivery
• HVAC, and Low-Carbon building systems
• New-Build and Retrofit projects (Heritage focus)
• Workplace, Hospitality and Mixed-Use developments
• Sustainable and energy-efficient design solutions
• Coordinating your designs with architects, structural engineers and other consultants
• Developing designs through the RIBA stages
• Supporting junior engineers and contributing to the wider team

Who are we looking for?

• A degree or qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
• Experience within a building services consultancy environment
• Good knowledge of Mechanical Building Services Design
• An understanding of relevant UK standards and regulations

• The ability to communicate effectively with clients and other members of a project team
• A genuine interest in sustainable and low-carbon engineering
