Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

Mechanical Design Engineer required for a well-established manufacturer based in Basingstoke. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design process of products with the use of Autodesk Inventor.

Job Overview

• Developing models and drawings of new and existing products with the use of Autodesk Inventor, whilst ensuring regulatory standards are adhered to.
• Producing pre-sales drawings to accompany quotations for customers.
• Liaise with production teams to oversee production process and resolve any design queries.
• Modify and refine drawings as required.
• Maintain existing engineering records and designs.
• Ensure costs are kept to a minimum/working within defined budgets.
• Review processes and highlight and implement improvements where appropriate.

Job Requirements

• 2+ years of experience within a Design Engineering role.
• Experience with 3D modelling software such as Solidworks, Catia, Inventor or Solidedge. Autodesk Inventor is preferred.
• Based in commutable distance of Basingstoke.
• A can-do attitude and ability to work on own initiative.
• An understanding of quality processes.
