Job summary

MCS Group is recruiting a Mechanical Contract Manager for a leading M&E contractor delivering projects across the UK and Ireland. The role is Belfast-based with travel approximately two days per week.

You will oversee mechanical projects from contract award to completion, ensuring safety, schedule and budget compliance while leading site teams, subcontractors and suppliers. Strong commercial and contractual skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as Mechanical Contract Manager or similar in M&E sector.
• Strong background in mechanical building services incl. HVAC, plumbing and pipework.
• Proven track record delivering mechanical projects from start to finish.
• Strong commercial and contractual management skills.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical projects from contract award through to completion.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
• Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Manage programmes, costs, variations and commercial performance.
• Maintain relationships with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.
• Coordinate procurement, design and technical requirements.
• Identify and manage risks, issues and delays.
• Ensure works meet quality, health & safety and environmental standards.
• Attend client and project meetings with progress updates.
• Support commissioning, completion and handover of projects.

MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting a Mechanical Contract Manager for our client, a leading mechanical and electrical engineering contractor delivering projects across the UK and Ireland.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Contract Manager to oversee the successful delivery of mechanical projects, managing commercial, technical and operational aspects from contract award through to completion.

Location: Belfast-based with travel required approximately 2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical projects from contract award through to completion.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
• Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Manage project programmes, costs, variations and commercial performance.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.
• Coordinate procurement, design and technical requirements.
• Identify and manage project risks, issues and potential delays.
• Ensure works meet required quality, health and safety and environmental standards.
• Attend client and project meetings, providing updates on progress and performance.
• Support commissioning, completion and handover of projects.

About You

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Contract Manager, Contracts Manager, Project Manager or similar within the M&E sector.
• Strong mechanical building services background, ideally covering HVAC, plumbing and pipework.
• Proven experience delivering mechanical projects from start to finish.
• Strong commercial, contractual and project management skills.
• Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant mechanical engineering, building services or construction qualification is desirable.
