Job summary

Pioneer-Selection-Ltd are recruiting a Mechanical Bias Maintenance Engineer for a food manufacturing site in Newport area. You will manage planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and breakdown fault-finding on production machinery to maximise uptime and efficiency.

You will also handle facilities and general site maintenance, with buddying on day shift for two months before taking ownership of your area; there are plans for progression into supervisory roles and engineering

Qualifications

• Multi-skilled maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• NVQ Level 3 or higher in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with PLC systems (Siemens/Mitsubishi/Allen-Bradley) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on production machinery.
• Perform reactive maintenance and breakdown fault-finding to maximise uptime.
• Handle facilities and general site maintenance and operate autonomously.

Job Title - Mechanical Bias Maintenance Engineer
Location - Cwmfelinfach, Newport
Salary: £39,900
Shift: Double Days – 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm
Alternative Shift: 3-shift pattern available with 7.5% shift allowance – £42,892

You will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and breakdown fault-finding on a range of production machinery, ensuring maximum uptime, reliability and efficiency. You will also have responsibility for facilities and general site maintenance, making this a varied and autonomous engineering position.

You will initially be buddied up with the day-shift team for two months, giving you the opportunity to learn the site, machinery and processes before taking ownership of your area.

Non‑Negotiable Requirements of the Multi‑Skilled Shift Maintenance Engineer

• Multi-skilled maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Recognised engineering qualification to NVQ Level 3 or above in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

Desirable Requirements for the Multi‑Skilled Shift Maintenance Engineer

• Food manufacturing or FMCG experience.
• Refrigeration experience.
• Experience with Siemens, Mitsubishi or Allen Bradley PLC systems.
• Apprenticeship or ONC qualification.
• Experience working with facilities maintenance.
