Job summary

Edwards Vacuum in Clevedon is recruiting Mechanical Assembly Operatives to join the team. This hands-on role involves assembling frames, brackets and components for vacuum systems used in the semiconductor industry.

The role requires practical mechanical or engineering experience, the ability to read basic drawings, and a diligent, independent work ethic. Training is provided, with a focus on maintaining quality and safety in a production environment.

Qualifications

• Previous assembly, manufacturing or engineering experience.
• Experience using hand tools and working with mechanical parts.
• Ability to follow instructions and basic engineering drawings.
• Good attention to detail and a practical, hands-on approach.
• Reliable and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Vehicle Mechanic, CNC Operator, Fabricator, Production Operative or similar would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical assembly of frames, brackets and components.
• Building sub-assemblies using tools and equipment.
• Installing pipework and mechanical components.
• Fitting heaters and insulation to pipe runs.
• Following basic engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Supporting general production and assembly tasks.
• Maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Location: Clevedon, North Somerset, BS21

Transport: Own transport required

Pay: Weekly or monthly

Holiday: 25 days + 8 bank holidays, accrued pro rata

Shift Options

Condensed – Contract (34.5 Hrs)

Fri–Sun: 12:30–00:30

£32.24/hr | Contract: ASAP–20th December

Holiday: Accrued and paid at the end of the contract

AM – Ongoing (37.5 Hrs)

Mon–Thu: 06:00–14:15

Fri: 06:00–11:30

£16.48/hr | Temporary ongoing
