A local government organization in Aberdeen is seeking a qualified individual for a permanent, full-time role focused on the maintenance and inspection of vehicles within their fleet. Candidates must hold relevant motor vehicle engineering qualifications and a full UK driving licence. The role offers a flexible working pattern and requires effective communication with the management team and customers.

Roles that require PVG Membership
Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above, currently £31,505 per annum / £17.31 per hour).
The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee's first FULL month’s salary payment.
The post holder will be responsible for inspection, maintenance and repairs on vehicles, plant and equipment within Aberdeen City Council Fleet workshops and depots. To carry out Fleet and public vehicle annual testing (MOT) and conduct Taxi hackney examinations. To have the ability to work on their own initiative and to communicate effectively with Management team and customers.
Weekly rota shift pattern
Week 1: Monday–Thursday 6am – 2pm, Friday 6am–11:30am
Week 2: Monday–Thursday 14:00–22:00, Friday 11:30–17:00
