A metropolitan local authority in Aberdeen is looking for a vehicle maintenance technician. The role involves inspecting, maintaining, and repairing vehicles and equipment. Candidates should have relevant mechanical qualifications and a Full UK Driving Licence, with the possibility of obtaining a Category C Licence. Location: Fleet Service, Kittybrewster Depot
Duration: Permanent, Full Time 35 hours
Weekly rota shift pattern.
Week 1: Monday-Thursday 6am - 2pm, Friday 6am-11:30am
Week 2: Monday-Thursday 14:00 - 22:00, Friday 11:30 - 17:00
PVG Membership – Roles that require PVG membership. Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee\'s first FULL month\'s salary payment.
The post holder will be responsible for inspection, maintaining and repairs on vehicles, plant and equipment within Aberdeen City Council Fleet workshops and depots. To have the ability to work on their own initiative and to communicate effectively with Management team and customers.
