Aircraft Mechanic – Full-Time, Permanent

📍 South Wales | 💼 Salary: £28,000 + Shift Allowance + Overtime

Blue Arrow is proud to be recruiting skilled Aircraft Mechanics for a prestigious aerospace company based in South Wales. This is a full-time, permanent role offering a competitive salary, structured shift patterns, and excellent career development opportunities.

Salary & Working Hours

Base Salary: £28,000 per annum
Shift Allowance: £82.76 per week
Total Package: Approx. £32,303 per annum

Hours:
Initial weeks: Monday to Friday, 6am-2pm or 7am-3pm
Ongoing shift pattern:
2 weeks days: Monday‑Friday, 6am-2pm§ 1 week afternoons: Monday‑Thursday: 1.45pm‑9.45pm
Friday: 11.45am‑7.45pm
Overtime available before/after shifts and Saturday mornings (once trained)✈️

About the Role

You’ll be part of a team specializing in the repair and overhaul of Commercial Aircraft Thrust Reversers and Nacelles, working to OEM, UKCAA, and EASA‑approved standards. This is a fast‑paced, high‑precision environment where safety and quality are paramount.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out MRO and production tasks to high standards (Quality, Cost, Delivery)
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and procedural requirements
  • Maintain airworthiness and accurate documentation
  • Support projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Adapt to shift patterns and business needs
  • Work independently and collaboratively within a team
Required Experience
  • Background in mechanical engineering, airframe technology, or automotive mechanics
  • Skills in fabrication, sheet metal forming, riveting, drilling, and fastening
  • Strong arithmetic and English skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to follow precise written instructions
  • Previous mechanical experience is essential
  • Aerospace experience or skills in painting, bonding, and mechanical assembly are highly desirable
  • Proficiency with tools, machinery, and computer systems is preferred
