Job summary

Arnold Clark in Stafford is seeking skilled mechanics to join our team at Stafford Motorstore. You will safely prepare vehicles for the road, working on a wide range of models and technologies, and continually expanding your EV knowledge through company training.

We offer a salary of £40,000–£50,000 DOE with overtime paid at time and a half, a starting 33 days of annual leave, and generous employee discounts. Training to become EV accredited and career salary reviews are provided.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3 and solid automotive background.
• Ability to work both independently and within a busy team.
• Strong communication skills are essential.
• Attention to detail and high standards under deadlines.
• Proactive and enthusiastic approach to work.
• Ability to accurately follow written and spoken instructions.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance to high standards.
• Inspecting vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues using diagnostic equipment.
• Repairing or replacing defective parts.
• Carrying out DVSA vehicle testing (if authorised).
• Road testing vehicles to check repairs.
• Maintaining equipment and ensuring tools are in good condition.
• Following checklists to ensure procedures are completed.
• Completing all documentation to required standards.

Essential Skills

• A certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3 and solid work experience in the automotive industry
• The ability to work in a competent and efficient manner on your own or part of a busy team

• The ability to carry out work to high standards and to deadlines
• A proactive and enthusiastic approach
• The ability to accurately follow written and spoken instructions
• A full driving licence

Day-to-day duties

• Carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance to high standards
