The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and reliable part‑time mechanic to join our team. This is a flexible position ideal for a skilled technician seeking fewer hours, a semi‑retired professional, or a mechanic who values a healthy work‑life balance.

The role will primarily involve inspecting and maintaining our stock of used vehicles to ensure they are safe and reliable for our customers.

Hours: Flexible and negotiable, with an estimated 10–20 hours per week. Pay: Competitive hourly rate based on experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre‑sale inspections and safety checks on used vehicles.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs, including oil changes, brake replacements, and tire rotations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on various makes and models.
  • Replace or repair faulty parts and systems.
  • Update vehicle service records accurately.
  • Ensure the workshop area is kept clean, organised, and safe.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a vehicle mechanic or technician, with a strong diagnostic ability.
  • Excellent working knowledge of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively.
  • A positive attitude and strong communication skills.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Bonus (but not required): An MOT testing qualification.
