Job summary

Arnold Clark Group is seeking skilled mechanics in Paisley to safely prepare customers' cars. You will service, diagnose and repair across a wide range of manufacturers, using up-to-date vehicle tech.

You will join a supportive team with flexible hours and a focus on quality. Starting with a salary range £40,000–£50,000 DOE, you can earn additional bonuses up to £9,000 every three years, with overtime paid at time and a half.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3 and relevant automotive experience.
• Ability to work independently or within a busy team to high standards.
• Strong communication and attention to detail, with good problem-solving skills.
• Full driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance to high standards.
• Inspect engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues using diagnostic equipment.
• Repair or replace defective parts as needed.
• Carry out DVSA vehicle testing if authorised.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs.
• Maintain equipment and ensure tools are in good condition.
• Follow checklists and complete documentation to required standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely, quality work.

As a mechanic, you’ll safely prepare our customers’ cars for the road ahead. You’ll care about every detail and take pride in doing a meticulous job. Above all, you’ll want to be part of a capable, motivated team who feel the same way. You’ll get the chance to work on an incredible range of manufacturers and models, developing your skills and staying up to date with the very latest in vehicle technology.

Essential skills

• A certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3 and solid work experience in the automotive industry
• The ability to work in a competent and efficient manner on your own or part of a busy team
• Strong communication skills
• Good attention to detail
• The ability to carry out work to high standards and to deadlines
• A proactive and enthusiastic approach
• The ability to accurately follow written and spoken instructions
• A full driving licence

Day-to-day duties

• Carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance to high standards
