Job summary

EAST LONDON NHS FOUNDATION TRUST in City and Hackney MBT Service is recruiting a registered Specialist Mentalization Based Therapist (MBT) for a permanent, full-time Band 7 position.

The post involves delivering both individual and group MBT treatment, conducting assessments, and developing tailored formulations. You will participate in community in-reach work and contribute to service development and research.

Qualifications

• Registered MBT therapist with post-qualification experience in mental health services.
• Experience delivering MBT and supervision/consultation in complex emotional needs.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a registered Specialist Mentalization Based Therapist (MBT) to become part of the City and Hackney Mentalization Based Therapy Service. This is a permanent, full-time B7 position at 1 WTE.

Our service provides a comprehensive MBT program tailored for individuals with Complex Emotional Needs. We particularly encourage candidates with experience working with adults facing these challenges to apply, as the primary goal of this role involves delivering consultation, assessments, and psychological formulations alongside MBT treatment.

This position presents a unique chance to provide both individual and group MBT treatment for service users with complex emotional needs. In addition to offering clinical interventions, you will also participate in running SCM groups and iMBT groups, with a focus on enhancing our support for families and young people, along with conducting in-reach work in the community.

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and formulate tailored reports for patients referred to the Mentalisation Based Therapy Service, ensuring that both referrers and patients receive detailed insights.
• Develop and implement effective treatment plans while providing specialized Mentalisation-Based therapy to patients within our care.
• Offer clinical formulations to colleagues and consult with professionals and agencies, particularly focusing on case consultations and psychological formulations for inpatient services.
• Collaborate with other professionals to promote continuity of care across various services.
• Work independently while adhering to professional guidelines and the team's policies and procedures.
• Take a leading role within the team to deliver a specialized treatment approach for patients with complex needs, offering expert assessment, intervention, and therapy.
• Contribute to the ongoing research efforts within the specialist service, assisting in data collection and development.
