Job summary

Biffa is looking for an MBT Supervisor to lead an operational team at our waste processing site. You will safely manage resources to maximise plant performance, ensure productivity and environmental compliance, and oversee a 4on-4off rotating pattern (days 06:00-18:00, nights 18:00-06:00).

Salary: £42,307.20 per annum. You will schedule maintenance, control costs, manage stock, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Recent similar experience of supervising an operational team.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Permit to Work experience.
• Knowledge of SOPs/TBT/SSOW is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely manage operational resources to maximise plant performance.
• Ensure productivity and environmental compliance in the Refinement area.
• Schedule pest control treatments and manage stock levels.
• Lead CI improvement projects and control costs.
• Maintain records of plant operations and downtime causes.
• Oversee planned maintenance, inspections and cleaning to minimise downtime.

MBT Supervisor

Salary: £42,307.20 per annum

Shift Pattern: 4on-4off rotating shift pattern (4 days 06:00-18:00, 4 off & 4 nights 18:00-06:00)

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely managing of all operational resource to maximise plant performance, whilst maintaining a safe work environment at all times.
• Ensuring productivity and availability exceeds minimum defined standards in the Refinement area.
• Ensuring Environmental compliance within the sites permitted activities.
• Scheduling pest control treatments and managing stock levels.
• Implementing best practice and continuous improvement in cost control/process operations.
• Controlling the material movements out of the plant,
• Providing records of all plant operations, settings and stoppages, and to attribute causes to all unplanned downtime.
• Carrying out regular stock and inventory of all materials.
• Keeping abreast of changes to company standards and legislation.
• Implementing and ensuring compliance standards.
• Analyse and review maintenance activities, cost control, health and safety and service KPIs, implementing necessary corrective actions in the event of variance.
• Schedule planned preventative maintenance, inspections and cleaning in order to minimise downtime
• Maintain a high level of housekeeping in all areas.
• Lead and participate in CI improvement projects.

Essential Criteria:

• Recent similar experience of supervising an operational team
• Understanding of health and safety regulations
• Permit to Work Experience
• IOSH Managing Safely
• Previous involvement in the production of RA’s, SOP’s, TBT & SSOW
• Experience in the Control of contractors
• Microsoft office Skills (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
• Full UK car driving licence
• Good understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance
• Good people skills; be able to communicate at all levels throughout the company and externally
• Previous experience of shift planning (control of rota)
• Experience in HR (RTW/PDR’s/Performance management)
