Job summary

A leading educational institution in Chester is seeking a Clinical Assessment Lead to develop and quality assure assessments for their MBChB programme. The ideal candidate will be a GMC registered Consultant, GP or SAS Doctor, passionate about medical education and student preparation. This role offers a fixed-term contract with a competitive salary ranging from £61,542 to £139,882 pro-rata, and diverse applications are encouraged.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

3 year fixed term contract (0.5FTE)

Chester Medical School (CMS) is an exciting development at the University of Chester, which delivers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in clinical and biomedical sciences. Our new MBChB Graduate Entry Programme launched in September 2024. We are actively recruiting suitably qualified and experienced staff to join our team.

Campus-based facilities include a purpose-built integrated clinical skills, simulation and anatomy centre with state-of-the-art facilities with clinical placements taking place throughout the region.

We are seeking a suitably experienced clinical academic to be our Clinical Assessment Lead. You will be involved in developing and quality assuring our assessments, particularly OSCEs and the CPSA, and coordinating educational activities with the rest of the MBChB team and external faculties. You will be experienced at developing OSCEs and have a passion to help prepare our medical students to become safe doctors.

You will be expected to actively promote medical education, undertake research/scholarly activities and represent the Chester Medical School externally as required.

You will ideally be an experienced Consultant, GP or Speciality & Associate Speciality (SAS) Doctor, on the GMC register with a licence to practice.
