Job summary

Parkside House School, part of Outcomes First Group, is seeking a passionate Maths Teacher to deliver engaging lessons and support pupils with autism and additional needs.

You will adapt teaching to individual needs, build strong relationships and work with therapists and families to foster progress and independence.

Qualifications

• QTS or relevant qualification/degree that supports ability to teach Maths.
• Strong Maths subject knowledge and confident classroom practice.
• A creative, flexible approach to teaching and learning.
• The ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and understand their individual needs.
• Patience, resilience and a positive attitude.
• A genuine interest in developing knowledge and skills within SEND.

Job description

At Parkside House School, we're looking for a passionate Maths Teacher who wants to do more than deliver lessons. Here, you'll have the opportunity to help young people discover that they can succeed in Maths - building confidence, independence and skills that will stay with them long beyond the classroom. Working with children and young people with autism, learning difficulties and additional needs, you'll teach smaller classes where you can truly get to know your pupils, understand how they learn and adapt your approach to help them thrive. Welcome to Parkside House School, an SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Independent Special School with sites in Backworth and Ashington. We provide specialist teaching, small class sizes, bespoke timetables, and a nurturing, friendly environment for pupils aged KS2 Year 6-KS5.
