Role Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and patient Online Maths or English Tutor to join our growing team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging one-to-one or small-group lessons remotely, supporting pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4 to prepare for GCSEs, Functional Skills, or Entry Level qualifications. You will work closely with class teachers, SEN support staff, and the school’s leadership team to ensure continuity of learning and measurable progress.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver high-quality online lessons in Maths or English tailored to the individual learning needs of pupils.
  • Provide structured and differentiated support for pupils with EHCPs or additional learning needs.
  • Use engaging teaching strategies and digital tools to support participation and understanding.
  • Assess progress regularly, providing feedback to pupils, parents, and the school team.
  • Maintain accurate lesson records, attendance, and progress notes.
  • Collaborate with the DSL and SENCo to ensure safeguarding, inclusion, and appropriate adaptations are in place.
  • Promote confidence, motivation, and independent learning skills.
  • Uphold Overstone Park School’s values of respect, inclusion, and excellence.
Essential:

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant degree with tutoring experience.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Maths or English up to GCSE level.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN or additional learning needs.
  • Confident in using online learning platforms such as Zoom, Teams, or Google Classroom.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Desirable:
  • Experience working within independent or SEN schools.
  • Familiarity with Functional Skills qualifications or alternative learning pathways.
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures in online education.

Salary And Hours:
  • Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualification.
