Job description

Perfect Household Staff is delighted to offer a prestigious opportunity for a qualified Norland graduate or a highly experienced professional maternity nanny to join a kind and welcoming family.

This is a live‑out position caring for a delightful baby boy, who will be three months old at the start of the placement on 1 December 2025. The family are seeking a confident and knowledgeable maternity nanny with exceptional understanding of infant development, routine management, and early weaning, together with the calm, reassuring manner associated with Norland‑trained professionals.

The maternity nanny will work closely alongside the mother, providing hands‑on support with all aspects of the baby’s care. The successful candidate will create and maintain a consistent and nurturing daily routine, ensuring the baby’s physical comfort, emotional wellbeing, and developmental progress.

Job Details:
  • Type: Permanent, Full time, Live Out
  • Working Days: 5 days a week (4 weekdays and 1 weekend)
  • Working Hours: up to 50 hours per week (9:00am‑6:00pm)
  • Salary: up to £70,000 annually gross, depending on experience
  • Location: Edinburgh, United Kingdom (starting 1 December 2025 in Dubai, UAE / 6 February 2026 in Edinburgh, UK)
  • Language: English (essential), Mandarin (bonus)
Live Out Maternity Nanny duties will include:
  • Providing nurturing and attentive care for a five‑month‑old baby boy alongside the mother, ensuring his safety, comfort, and developmental wellbeing.
  • Establishing and maintaining a consistent daily routine suitable for the baby’s age and developmental stage.
  • Managing feeding, nap, and bedtime routines to promote healthy sleep patterns and overall stability.
  • Preparing and sterilising bottles, maintaining cleanliness of feeding equipment, and supporting the early weaning process.
  • Caring for the baby’s clothing and linens, including baby laundry and organisation of the nursery.
  • Planning and engaging the baby in stimulating activities such as tummy time, sensory play, and gentle developmental exercises.
  • Monitoring and encouraging the baby’s milestones and providing regular updates to the parents.
  • Offering professional advice and reassurance to the parents regarding all aspects of infant care.
  • Ensuring a safe, hygienic, and calm environment at all times.
  • Travelling with the family on occasion, when mutually agreed, to provide continuity of care during trips.
Requirements for this Full‑Time Maternity Nanny job:
  • Norland College qualification or equivalent early years training (highly desirable).
  • Up‑to‑date Enhanced DBS check and excellent checkable references required.
  • Extensive experience caring for infants from 3 months onwards.
  • Strong knowledge of feeding, sleep routines, and early developmental milestones.
  • Confident supporting parents and working in partnership within the household.
  • Warm, patient, and professional approach with excellent communication skills.
  • Good command of English; Mandarin is an advantage.
  • Highly organised, discreet, and reliable with strong attention to detail.
  • Flexible and adaptable with a calm, reassuring manner.

The family will be based in Dubai from 1 December 2025, and the successful candidate will travel with them. The family will provide accommodation and cover travel expenses; this will be a single, one‑time travel arrangement. The family will return to the UK on 1 February 2026, and the maternity nanny will then continue the placement in Edinburgh.

Although this is a live‑out role, the family are willing to reimburse reasonable relocation transport costs should the successful candidate decide to move to Edinburgh for the position. The nanny will, however, be responsible for arranging their own accommodation. The family may occasionally travel and would appreciate flexibility to accompany them if required; this will be discussed in advance. There are no pets in the household and no driving duties will be necessary.

For the right candidate, the family would be pleased to extend the position beyond the maternity period, offering the opportunity for a long‑term and stable engagement.

The ideal candidate will be a warm, discreet, and professional maternity nanny who can offer structured, developmentally appropriate care while working in harmony with the family. A Norland qualification or equivalent early years training is highly desirable.

This is a superb opportunity for a dedicated maternity nanny seeking a rewarding position with a respectful and appreciative family who value excellence in childcare and professionalism in approach.
