What skills and experience we're looking for

We have a vacancy for an excellent teacher to join our staff on a full-time maternity cover contract, commencing Monday 13th April 2026. This will be in our Year 2 class. Main Pay Scale.

We need you to:
  • Enjoy being a teacher and shaping young minds.
  • Have a strong commitment to keeping progress and attainment standards high.
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management.
The ideal candidate will:
  • Have the ability to promote the school’s ethos and values positively, and use effective strategies to support wellbeing.
  • Have the ability to establish sound professional relationships within a team, making an effective contribution to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of others.
  • Have the ability to create a positive, happy, challenging and effective learning environment.
  • Have high expectations of pupil behaviour and strategies to meet the personalised learning and emotional needs of every child.
  • Understand a diverse range of teaching and learning styles and techniques.
  • Have a good understanding of effective procedures for managing and promoting positive behaviour among pupils.
  • Be computer literate.
  • Understand Safeguarding in school; Health and Safety; Data protection; Equality and Diversity and confidentiality.
  • Have a degree/PGCE or equivalentQTS Status.
