Job summary

About the Role:

As an inclusive, forward-thinking business, we take pride in our approach to Supply Chain across Avara Foods and are looking for a highly competent and motivated Materials Planning Manager to join our team based at our Telford site.

As a Materials Planning Manager you'll be working Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:00

What will you be doing as a Materials Planning Manager at Avara?

As Materials Planning Manager you will ensure that strategic material planning processes are in place to enable operational and production continuity, you will also lead the co-ordination with internal & external key stakeholders to ensure their materials are in place to satisfy all production requirements.

What will your key responsibilities as a Materials Planning Manager include?
  • To ensure accurate scheduling of inbound Inventory Materials.
  • Execute against agreed Inventory Control - focusing on Site Stock holding Targets.
  • Managing Cost control through economies of scale.
  • Managing, mentoring, and guiding their team to execute against the departments Targets.
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders, such as Operations, wider Planning functions, Procurement, Technical & NPD
  • Establishing strong relations with External suppliers - to leverage strong supply-chain bonds.
  • Working towards our sustainability promise by concentrating on 2 fundamentals, reduction of plastic (through reduced process over-usage reporting) & zero to waste (by deploying a zero tolerance to material obsolescence strategy)
  • Also reducing the carbon footprint by lowering the volume of vehicle deliveries to site, this has a direct link to reducing operational over-usages.
  • Remaining current with developments in management and process optimization.
What you'll need to be successful:
  • Strong understanding of process management.
  • 5 years previous experience in process optimization, operations, or business management.
  • FMCG experience understanding the demands of high turnover short shelf-life products, with a broad knowledge of many disciplines within an Organisation. Firm grasp of the volatility of managing requirements associated to a seasonal demand and the ability to work under pressure.
  • A sharp eye for identifying weak points in processes and organizational structures.
  • Excellent Influencing Skills
  • A strategic and analytical mindset.
  • A compelling communicator with strong presentation skills.
  • Confidence in your abilities to lead organizational change.
  • Very good understanding of business software systems
