About the role
We are looking for a Materials Handler to join our prestigious client on a permanent contract, to deliver a high-quality material handling service, providing support to both internal and external customers.
What you will be doing
- Competently using the Counterbalance and Reach trucks in a safe and responsible manner
- Ensuring that delivered parts are unloaded in a safe and timely manner, and booked in according to requirements
- Quarantining and reporting any quality issues on delivery
- Ensuring that all parts are checked and safely stored in an appropriate location, ready to be issued to production when needed.
- Ensuring supplier documentation supports items delivered and to report any anomalies in order to provide an accurate document trail
- Providing manufacturing support, ensuring no material shortages at all times
- Assisting in the movement of any products to secondary locations, such as the second site and external customers.
- Lifting and moving products up to 20kg in weight
- Taking ownership of the yard, ensuring it is allocated and organised in a safe and tidy manner
- Processing all relevant documentation regarding deliveries and stock via the stock control system
- Releasing and printing standard manufacturing orders as necessary and allocating them to the required area
- Carrying out regular cycle counts and stock checks in line with requirements
- Providing waste management control
- Undertaking any other tasks that may be requested
Hours of Work
Standard hours are 14:00-22:10 Monday to Thursday and 12:55-18.55 Friday. You must be flexible to also cover sickness and holiday where necessary, and in these circumstances. Weekend cover may occasionally be required.
About you
Skills & Experience
- Basic user of Microsoft Excel
- Good understanding of document control
- Counterbalance Forklift Truck experience (full training will be provided)
- Operation of materials handling equipment
- Experience supporting the manufacturing environment
- Understanding of key customer requirements
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
- UK Driving Licence
