Job summary

CAF Rail UK is hiring for a Materials Controller in Chester. The role focuses on running a well-organised stores department, managing material movements and storage, and ensuring seamless coordination of logistics with stakeholders.

You will maintain material logs, monitor stock levels, and ensure data accuracy to support multiple departments. Strong communication, a driver’s license, and basic English/Maths are required.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a similar position.
• Strong computer skills, with exposure to ERP and logistic/stock control systems.
• Valid driver's license and good numeracy & literacy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain material logs and monitor stock levels.
• Ensure accuracy of system information to support data quality.
• Coordinate logistics with key stakeholders and communicate with customers and project teams regarding materials transactions and inquiries.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your expertise as Materials Controller is crucial to multiple departments within the company , enabling you to provide support and offer assistance with materials planning and control as required . ABOUT WHAT WE PAY

As a Real Living Wage Employer, we are proud to pay competitively at CAF. For this role you will be offered a salary in the region of £32,000 per annum.

ABOUT YOU

Success in this role requires prior experience in a similar position , and the ability to demonstrate strong computer skills, particularly with past exposure to ERP and logistic/ stock control system s . You hold a valid driver's license and can demonstrate good numeracy and literacy, hav ing attained standard grade 3 (or equivalent) in English and Maths. Being adaptable, independent, and proactive is also essential for this position.
